H.E.P. Motorsports powered through its second race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway for the 14th round of the 2021 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series. Max Anstie was determined to race, having to exit early in the previous round due to a crash that left him banged up. Only one round back from injury, Adam Enticknap came close to the main event but fell short by a few positions. Brandon Hartranft was out due to a minor injury suffered before the Atlanta rounds. He is set to return this Saturday.
Max Anstie (#34) finishes 7th overall in his heat race.
Max Anstie (#34) – Bruised but not broken, Max Anstie would not be stopped from racing. Coming off a nasty crash that forced him to exit early in the previous round, Max was eager to get back out there. In his heat race Max got out to impressive start, racing very well, and finishing in 7th place. Anstie carried the momentum into the main event by getting out to a top 10 start. Throughout the race Max battled with the best, ultimately finishing in 14th place.
“We are back from Saturday,” said Max Anstie. “I did a lot of recovery over the past couple days. We did well today and I will take it. We will move forward to Saturday. The heat race went well and I got a really good start. Each session I went out there got better and better. I want to be better. I got some things to take away and I’m looking forward to Saturday.”
Adam Enticknap (#722) continues to improve only one round back from an injury.
Adam Enticknap (#722) – Having to build back the momentum he had going for him before his crash at round 8 in Orlando, Adam has wasted no time getting back on track. Coming off a broken collar bone, scapula and a few ribs, Enticknap is close to where he once was in the main event. Despite coming up short so far in Atlanta, Adam has been very close each round to making the main. Expect to see him back there soon.
“The track was really good today,” said Adam Enticknap. “I felt better today, our bike was really good today. Clark Jones made some really good changes to the suspension. I rode a good heat race, but not the best one I ever had. In the LCQ I made a mistake right off the gate. I wasn’t really able to make my way forward. The track was good, my Suzuki was great. I just have to do a couple tiny things throughout the race to get it done. I think with everything I have going on, coming off the collarbone injury, scapula and ribs that got broken, things are getting better. I’m excited for Saturday.”
“Well Atlanta 2 went pretty good,” said Crew Chief Clark Jones of Noleen J6 Technologies. “Adam rode better today; I know the results don’t show it but he’s getting better. His shoulder is getting a lot better. I’m looking forward to him getting in the main on Saturday. As far as Max goes, everything went really smooth today. He got a very good start in the heat race. He ended up 7th in the heat race. Just like NASCAR, we made changes throughout the day to the motorcycle. The bike was the best it was in the main. He’s still getting used to Supercross, but he’s getting better. I’m excited for Max. This Saturday will be his best race ever.”
H.E.P. Motorsports looks to have a strong finish at the final race in Atlanta for the 15th round of the 2021 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series.
