Max Anstie (#34) has a solid day of racing in Arlington, Texas.
H.E.P. Motorsports finished out the 12th round of the 2021 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series in Arlington, Texas. The team had its best result so far this series, with Anstie getting his highest finish in the main and with Hartranft running as high as 15th in the main before a crash set him back. Adam Enticknap continues to recover from a shoulder injury and aims to be back during the Atlanta rounds.
Max Anstie (#34) finishes 16th overall in the 450cc premiere class.
Max Anstie (#34) – It was a fantastic day of racing for Max Anstie. He had his best heat race so far this season with a near holeshot. He battled with the top guys during his heat race before finishing in 7th place. He followed that up with an impressive main event race which saw him fight back from a bad to start to finish 13th in the main.
"We made progress," said Max Anstie. "we had a good three races here in Arlington. Today we got our best heat race. I got a good start and battled with some good guys. I got 7th. In the main I was strong. I kept pushing. I had some of the best rhythm sections I've done. I felt good in the whoops and the sands. To be honest, I'm happy to come away with a 13th. We made progress and I'm looking forward to going back and doing more work for the next three weeks to get ready for Atlanta."
Brandon Hartranft (#28) continues to improve in his rookie 450 class campaign.
Brandon Hartranft (#28) – The 450 class rookie had one of his best results so far this series with an 18th place finish. Brandon got a great start running in his heat race in second but struggled in a few areas and missed the main with 10th place. In the L.C.Q. Hartranft turned it around with an impressive race, finishing in 2nd place. In the main event, Brandon ran as high as 14th throughout the race before going over the bars in the sand section, dropping him back from the pack. Hartranft finished the main event in 18th place.
"All day went great," said Brandon Hartranft. "I felt like myself, and I had a good practice and qualifying. In the heat race, I ripped a good start and held second for a bit. I struggled in the whoops a little bit, and I had to race the L.C.Q. I was able to figure it out and make it into the main. I got a good start and was running 14th for a while before going over my bars in the sand and getting landed on. I want to take as much advantage of these mains and learn from them as much as I can."
"Today was a good day for the whole team," said crew chief Clark Jones of Noleen J6 Technologies. "Brandon road good, he progressed a little better each time he was on the track. We made tiny adjustments to bike throughout the day that went well. He ended up 18th on the night. Max bike worked well, and he raced very well. He had a good start in his heat race. In the main, not so much, but he passed a lot of guys and rode a solid race with 13th place. We are really looking forward to Atlanta."
The 2021 Monster Energy A.M.A. Supercross series takes a three-week break before returning to Atlanta Motor Speedway. H.E.P. Motorsports will take this time to prepare for the final stretch of the supercross series. Expect to see 450 class rookies Hartranft and Anstie to finish out the series strong!
