The H.E.P. Motorsports team had an up and down night in Atlanta, Georgia for round nine of the Supercross series. The day started off great with all three riders racing strong and qualifying into the Main Event on their Suzuki RM-Z450’s. Adam Enticknap had his best result of the year finishing in 17th place. Ryan Breece made it straight into the Main Event with an impressive start and a 7th place finish. Both Kyle Cunningham and Breece went down at different points on the track during the main and were unable to finish the race. Max Anstie is still recovering from his injury and is expects to be back stronger and healthier.
Adam Enticknap, aka “The Seven-Deuce-Deuce”, fought hard this past Saturday night in Atlanta with his best result so far this season. Adam looked to be in sync all day displaying some of his best riding yet. In his heat race, Adam was unable to get a good start and found himself in 19th place. As the race progressed, Enticknap was able to climb all the way into 11th, missing a qualifying position by two spots. In the LCQ, Adam got out to a top-ten start and was able to lock down a transfer position. He continued to race very aggressive into the Main Event, finishing in 17th place overall.
“This week was better from the start,” said Enticknap. “I qualified the best I have all year and was determined to make it happen! In my heat, I came from 19th to 11th. In the LCQ, I got a good start and did my job. The main event was 10 times better than my last one. Looking forward to the progress we make in the next two weeks!”
Ryan Breece was very close to improving on his career best in Atlanta, until a crash ended his night early. Ryan continued to show his ability off the starting line, putting his Suzuki RM-Z450 into the top-five early on in his heat race but ended up finishing 7th. In the Main Event, Breece was running inside the top 15 before he crashed and ultimately ended his night early. He finished in 22nd place.
“Very pleased on the progression of the Suzuki RM-Z450,” said Breece. “Each week I’m building confidence within myself knowing I can run the pace with the top guys.”
Kyle Cunningham (#44) goes down chasing his best result this year in Atlanta.
It was a tough night in Atlanta for the veteran Kyle Cunningham. Not getting the start he wanted in his heat race, Kyle was forced to fight his way through the pack. He missed a qualifying position by one place and was forced to race the LCQ where he locked down a transfer position early, finishing in second place. In the Main Event, Cunningham was racing aggressive and was close to the top 15 before a crash ended his night with a shoulder injury. The team expects to learn more on his condition later this week.
“The weekend was going good until a big crash in the main,” said Cunningham. “Riding felt good and the bike was working well. I’m bummed, but honestly it could always be worse. I’ll be getting checked out this week to see what’s all going on. It happens, but once I’m 100%, I’ll be back! Huge thanks to my team.”
“It was an up and down race this past weekend in Atlanta,” said Team Manager, Dustin Pipes. “As a whole, I felt the team worked well together, and we didn’t make any big changes to the motorcycles throughout the day. That’s a testament to the direction the team is going. Adam rode well all day and I was happy to see that translate into the main event. Ryan got off the gate well and showed us that he has what it takes to go to the next level. He was on track to earn a career high in the main, but a crash in a tricky rhythm section forced him out of the race. Kyle has been steadily improving throughout the season and that was again the case this weekend. Unfortunately, he had a big crash just past the midway point of the main. It was a scary moment and I’m glad he was able to walk away. It is looking like a shoulder injury, but the extent of it will be learned in the coming days.”
The 2020 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series moves onto Florida for the 50th Daytona Supercross. H.E.P. Motorsports looks to kick off bike week with another strong showing. Expect to see Enticknap and Breece ready to put their Suzuki RM-Z450’s into the Main Event this Saturday.
