Team Twisted Tea/H.E.P. Motorsports, presented by Progressive Insurance, headed up to northern California for the Hangtown National, the second round of the 2022 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series in Prairie City, California. The fence lines and hillsides were packed with fans cheering until the final lap. The team didn’t have the best results, but it wasn’t for lack of effort. Brandon Hartranft led the way for the team with his best result coming in the first moto with 15th place. Justin Bogle sustained an injury during the first moto and did not return for the second moto.
Brandon Hartranft #41: Hard-fought day for the 23-year-old from New Jersey who struggled with results in Hangtown. Brandon had vigorous qualifying sessions and headed into the first moto 13th overall. Hartranft struggled in his motos but didn't quit and pushed for 17th overall. His best race came in the first moto with 15th place.
"Today did not go as planned," said Brandon Hartranft. "I have been struggling with the power of the bike. It is so fast. I'm not going to quit, and the team will not quit. The track was gnarly. It's probably one of the roughest Hangtowns I've ever witnessed, but everyone has to race it. I think I was 17th overall, which is bad for me. I'm going to go back to the drawing board and keep working."
Justin Bogle #19: Unfortunate day for Bogle, who suffered an injury during the first moto that prevented him from returning to race the second moto. There is no timetable for his return.
“Rough day at the second round,” said Dustin Pipes. “Glad to be out of there and moving on to the next race. We have a plan in motion to be better at the rounds moving forward.”
