Team Twisted Tea Suzuki headed to Washougal MX Park in Washougal, WA for the seventh round of the 2021 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Series. It was the team’s first ride in the Pacific North West, and Max Anstie’s first ride there since 2010. The race did not disappoint with a packed venue that saw the fence line swarmed with fans. Anstie’s best race came in the first moto with a 9th place finish. Brandon Hartranft best race came in moto one with 13th place.
Max Anstie (#34) finishes inside the top 10 during the first moto.
Max Anstie (#34) – Another top-10 moto finish for Max Anstie this outdoor series. Getting off the gate well all day with two strong starts in each of his motos. His best race was in the first moto with 9th place. The second moto we saw some of the same riding from Anstie with a 12th place finish for 11th overall on the day.
“Progress was made at Washougal,” said Max Anstie, “Rode well on moto 1 and came out with a 9th. Moto 2 I fought hard and ended up 12th. We’ll keep pushing and get some testing done in the break we have now to come back stronger at Unadilla.”
Brandon Hartranft (#28) finished in 15th place during the second moto.
Brandon Hartranft (#28) – The 450 premiere class rookie, Hartranft, continues to ride very consistent with another top 15 finish. Brandon’s best race came in the first moto with 13th place. In the second moto, Hartranft matched his first moto performance with another strong moto finishing in 15th place.
“Solid day at Washougal,” said Brandon Hartranft. “I was riding well all day, I didn’t get a good start in the first moto, I came from 30th to 13th. In the second moto I got a better start and rode up front, but I hit a wall and fell back to 15th. There are five rounds left to go and I’m going to bring the heat.”
“Another step in the right direction at Washougal,” said Team Manager, Dustin Pipes. “We made strides in the week leading up with changes to the drivetrain and it showed with great starts in both motos. The team has a couple more testing days scheduled in the off weeks where the plan is to make more improvements to the motor. Brandon and Max are definitely on an upswing, we just need to put two complete motos together.”
Team Twisted Tea Suzuki takes time to test and prepare for the final stretch of the 2021 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Series. Hartranft and Anstie will be back in action August 14th at Unadilla MX in New Berlin, NY.
