Twisted Tea took over “The Wick” for the 5th round of the 2021 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series this past Saturday giving out swag and free samples to those over the age of 21. Team Twisted Tea Suzuki had a productive day on the track with their best results coming in the second moto with Hartranft in 11th place and Anstie in 12th place capping off a hard-fought battle the entire moto.
Max Anstie (#34) finishes in 12th place in the second moto.
Max Anstie (#34) – Unfortunate day for Anstie with bike problems in the first moto while running inside the top 10 forcing him to retire early from the race. However, in the next moto he was able to turn his fortunes around charging from outside the top 25 to an impressive 12th place finish.
“Tough weekend for me,” said Max Anstie. “I was really looking forward to this race. We had a few issues in the first moto that took me out of it. I did not have the best gate pick in the next moto. I rode as strong as I could and came home with 12th. We will go back to the drawing board and regroup and recover. All eyes on Millville.”
Brandon Hartranft (#28) races to an 11th place moto 2 finish.
Brandon Hartranft (#28) – The 450cc premiere class rookie is starting to find his rhythm in the big bike class, looking more comfortable and consistent each time out on the track. Matching his previous round moto results going 13-11. His best race came in moto 2, Brandon was on the verge of the top 10 battling the entire race finishing in 11th place. Going 13-11, Hartranft finished in 13th place overall at the Southwick National.
“Southwick went great for me,” said Brandon Hartranft. “Actually, got the same moto scores as last weekend except this round I got 13th overall. I am riding really well right now. In the second moto I was battling for top 10 the entire race. I am proud of myself, my racing, building some confidence, I am pumped on my riding. I’m definitely looking forward to next weekend.”
“Southwick lived up to its reputation as it was a difficult and physically demanding track all day,” said Team Manager Dustin Pipes. “Brandon is really starting to hit his stride and getting comfortable racing against competitors that where once his idol. He flirted with the top 10 all day, from first qualifiers to the final moto he was just at the heels of the lead pack. I am happy to see his continued growth. Unfortunately for Max a part failure while running in the top 10 during moto 1 made him retire early form the race. He had a great pace in moto 2 and with a few more laps would have again found himself in the top 10. I was really impressed with Clark, Ryan and Andrew and their ability to get Max back on the track with such short time frame between motos. They deserve a Twisted Tea after that one as they practically changed every part on the frame.”
The 2021 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Series reaches its halfway point as the series heads to Millville, Minnesota for the 6th round of the series.
