I purchased the tale tidy kit, with the oem turn signal brackets, for my '23 MT09. It fit great. It looks great. It was easy to install. Some reviews complained about the difficulty of removing/reinstalling the oem flang and spring and those individuals should take their bikes to a shop because it was a very simple task. Also, the turn signal brackets kept my oem turn signal width legal in CA. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase.

3-Star Review for the Yoshimura Fender Eliminator

I've fitted this kit onto my 2022 MT09 SP. While it’s robust and complements the bike well, there are specific issues you might want to be aware of:

Instructions: The provided instructions were not too detailed. Instead, I found an installation video on YouTube by Full Throttle Freedom very helpful. The trickiest part was managing the stock seat cover spring and fitting it into the Yoshi kit. It's a challenging task, demanding a lot of patience and feels like you need an extra hand. It would have been great if Yoshimura provided a pre-assembled key cover.

License Plate Fitment: The license plate is a stressed member of the turn signal assembly. Changing or fitting the plate requires undoing the whole plate frame and turn signal assembly. The spacing underneath the license plate was too tight for a Colorado motorcycle plate. As a result, it doesn't sit perfectly flat and might rattle unless you tighten it to the point of slightly deforming the plate.

Value & Fitment: This kit could easily be rated 5 stars if it was priced more affordably or offered a better fit and a license plate cover.

On the bright side, its design is appealing. It's sturdy and practical. The installation frustrations will likely fade in a few days, especially once I'm out enjoying the ride.

I live in the US. This fender eliminator would have been installed on my 2021 Yamaha MT-09. First, for over $200 including tax this product should include a key hole cover already in place (or a lower price because of the difficulty transferring the stock parts). Additionally, based on the other two reviews I read, bolts not aligning properly does not fill me with confidence that this product has been properly R&D'd for my bike. Finally, having to drill anything on what is supposed to be a direct bolt on product is complete deal breaker. This is unfortunate because I have become a big Yoshi fan and have used their products (fender eliminators, exhaust systems and cosmetic parts on a number of bikes for years. Hopefully their web site is advanced enough to handle adding a comment or feedback to this review so we can better understand and trust this product.

Bought this part as the stock license plate holder was too far out for my taste. It was very easy to put together and install on my bike - instructions were clear, all the parts fit and it was and easy trade.
I do agree with Montana Craig's comment that the kit should have come with a seat key lock cover. It was annoying to install. I also found that the holes on my Canadian license plate do not align with the holes on the kit - so had to drill the license plate and loose the plastic protection cover... But the end result is so worth it! The silhouette of the bike is much nicer from the side and from the rear. It is a great upgrade to my MT-09SP!
... Next project is to get the turn light brackets so I can swap the turn signals with something that has a "larger presence" and brighter than the single LED - both front and back ...

The looks of this are great when compared to the stock. Installation took about 90 minutes. There are a few reasons for the 4 stars and not 5. The license plate bracket holes do not line up with the holes of my license plate. Not sure if that’s because my state made them weird or if it was an issue on yoshimura’s end. Next was that I had to get my drill out to increase the diameter of the holes as the bolts provided were slightly too large to fit through. Lastly, for the price of this I think it should come with its own keyhole cover. It took probably a half hour for me to install the original one into this due to the tiny spring and pins. This could be due to my large hands, but for the price of this it would have been nice to not have to deal with installing the original one onto the yoshimura. All in all it looks beautiful and I am very happy with it. Still think there are a few things the R&D department could iron out to make it more user friendly.
