Clamp leaks exhaust gas no matter how it is indexed.

Purchased a yoshi RS-5 slip on that came with this collector clamp. The problem is that the little free floating piece of metal that closes as the clamp is pinched shut causes two little gaps where it transitions from that piece to the actual band of the clamp. One of those t-bolt clamps without that free floating piece of metal (they just have the band of the clamp overlap) would make such a better seal because it wouldn’t cause any appreciable gaps once tightened. I know for a fact that it is the gaps in the clamp too because when I rotate the clamp the exhaust leaks follows wherever those gaps are indexed.
