Max Anstie is still out due to an injury suffered before the first round and is expected to return in Orlando.
Brandon Hartranft (#28) continues to grow in his rookie 450 season.
Brandon Hartranft (#28) – It was a learning experience for the 450 class rookie Brandon Hartranft who fell short of the main event by one transfer position. A crash in practice and in his heat race really hindered his ability to race to his full potential. In his heat race Brandon got a good start but crashed going for a pass in the section before the finish line. In the LCQ, Hartranft was not able to get out to a good start and had to fight his way through the pack from 12th unfortunately falling short of a transfer spot by one position and missed the main event.
“Practice went okay today. The track was very good,” said Brandon Hartranft. “I’m getting a little better each time I race. In the heat race I had a good start but then I fell, and I had to race the LCQ. I didn’t get a good start that race and had to work my way up. I almost got 4th, but I missed the main. There are some positives to take away from today, but I’m not pumped to miss the main. I’m ready to go get it in Orlando.”
Adam Enticknap (#722) finishes 20th overall in the 450cc premiere class.
Adam Enticknap (#722) – The fan favorite “Seven-Deuce-Deuce” had a strong night of racing finishing 20th overall in the 450cc premiere class. In his heat race, Adam got a rough start and had to fight his way through the group finishing in 12th. In the LCQ, Enticknap had another rough start and found himself outside the top ten. As the race ensued, Adam made very good racing decisions and was able to move his way all the way up to 4th place. In the main event Adam raced very well for the first half but made a few mistakes as the race progressed, finishing in 20th place overall.
“Indianapolis Round 3 was a dryer track and very technical. I felt it was definitely a good track,” said Adam Enticknap. “This season I feel that I’m definitely a better racer. In my heat race I had a good start, and I worked my way through the pack. I ended up 11th and had to race the LCQ. In the LCQ I should’ve got a better start. I was 12th and I was able to make my way up to 4th. In the main event I improved a lot having a great first half the race but made some mistakes. I’m excited for what’s to come into Orlando.”
“The race was okay but there were some things for us to build on,” said Team Manager Dustin Pipes. I was very happy with the way Adam rode for the first ten minutes of the main. He was catching people he normally doesn’t pass. For Brandon we are going to go back to the drawing board and change some things to the forks and shocks to get him to ride to his full potential.”
H.E.P. Motorsports heads to Orlando for the 7th, 8th & 9th rounds of the 2021 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series. Expect to see Adam Enticknap continue with his strong starts and aggressive racing. Look for Brandon Hartranft get back on track and into the main event.
